Publication of “The Rulers of Han Dynasty: Minahasan Ancestors,” published by Pohon Cahaya Publisher, Jogjakarta, in January 2018, was so phenomenal and elicit the pros and cons. Whether it was acknowledged or not, people’s perception was quite noticeable, including from a certain group of academics, due to the author’s background who was not from academic tradition. Some were sceptics, was it possible for a Welliam Boseke to found the secret of Minahasan origin?

Doubtful attitude and inclination to look with disdain eventually will change, for example when we realize that there are many ancient words and expressions written since early ages, in fact can’t be understood even by people regarded and claimed themselves as Minahasan linguists. The author has succeeded in helping the linguists uncover, connect, straighten what are missing, broken, and crooked in order to understand origin and meaning of Minahasan language.

Without doubt there would be enough scientific studies, even just by using simple logic, to understand various evidences of the finding from the perspective of linguistics and there are also other supporting evidences. Even ordinary people can derive logical and factual conclusion that the finding of Welliam reveals many things that Minahasan ancestors came from Han nation.

It’s obvious that the author is an inventor, supported with various positive sciences as he studied autodidactly. What he finds and reveals in this publication could be verified empirically. He doesn’t only write rhetorical statements but also explains them in a good light, so the readers can critize them in an objective way. There were many discussions, even public and scientific seminars held regarding publication of the finding.

In these honorable stages, discussors and participants had given their approvals and objections by not be able to back up their arguments with evidences. Such pulpits would continue to exist, with all of polemics and conclusions from various parties. Regarding agreements and one-sided acceptances and rejections, presumably it would broaden insight, deepen explanations, and also ensure continual existence of the findings.

There is one thing that might be escaped from people’s amazement, or in the contrary from annoyance of certain group of people and academics. If we trace it back from beginning of occurrence and of author’s motivation (Weliam H. Boseke), why he started studying and eventually published the appalling finding, it had a deep connection with his personal experience.

It began with the birth of his first child, who cried continuously and agitated although he had tried all medical and spiritual means to treat the child. They were useless. So, Welly began imagining a figure of an angle or a saint who could be a protector for his child. He then expressed it in a picture sketch of Peter with the characteristic of General Guan Yu (Kuang Kong). He was a stepbrother of Liu Bei. So, it was, the sketch of Kwan Yu. His effort brought good result. His child became calm and slept soundly.

From this vocal point, the author began having interest to observe fonetics sounds of Minahasan and Chinese language. There were various early findings that made him wanting to know more.

In truth, if it was traced back since his childhood, the author realized that his experience about Siouw Kurur, who in truth was no other than the great figure of Liu Bei (Jiu Gui Ru), who had became a legend in Minahasa, was because his parents often told him about this heroic figure.

This figure was highly admired by the writer and it strongly permeating his mind and heart since he was a child and began to understand mother language. Then, came the time when he was so powerless and tried very hard to find a solution for his first child. It was the figure of Liu Bei’ stepbrother who appeared in his mind and then he put it into a sketch.

Along with this phenomenal personal experience and growing interest in China language, similarities of sounds in Minahasan language were began to be found, and there were still many more to be found by the author during an intense periods when he focused his time and energy, until finally they were ready to be published as a book.

The author himself acknowledged that he had experienced some spiritual and supernatural phenomenons in process of his study. It seemed there was an invisible figure and energy accompanied him, sometimes even it made his hair of the nape erected. It could be understood, because he was very afraid of ghosts with all of their phenomenons. Moreover, there were some people with extrasensory perception and ability see other realm, often told him about this matter. Even, they were happened in land of China when he came out from plane at the airport, when he was absorbed seeing the play of traditional musical instruments in cultural tour area, when he was in museum and in hotel…

Even after this book was published and read by experts and observers from the land of China itself, the author was still experienced metaphysical phenomenons. For example, all of the experts from China who had initiative to make contact with him regarding publication of the findings, in truth came from similar clans with great figures depicted in book cover.

It’s obvious that enthusiasm and acknowledgement from many social circles including academics from China itself, presumably completing what were said by Indonesian academics who earlier positively accept theorems shown so convincingly by the author, and especially by who had read and understood the objective of this book.

It was metaphysical or supernatural experience of the author himself that began and accompany the finding and publication of this book, although it was outside procedures and acknowledgement of academics from positivist era. All statements were considered as meaningless if they could not be verified empirically. Metaphysical statements, including ethics and religion were considered meaningless. It could not be stated that they were incorrect, but it was worth said that they were not reachable by empiric procedural limits. It might be by using other science procedures that examine metaphysical things in more detail, the author’s personal experience would have its own significance.

The positivism itself has brought many finding and technological and science development, and also affected today’s modern world. There are critics to modernism rooted deeply in positivist science. Postmodernism criticize things assumed as produce shadows, even destroy human enviroment due to extreme applications and implications of positivist science that are rigid, cold, and value-free.

The Wely’s finding primarily are result of objective positivism science using linguistic comparative analysis method in history and culture of Minahasa and Han Dynasty. It is without doubt that Wely’s findings are higly enriching the world of science. But the author clearly goes beyond positivist science. He doesn’t stop just to empirical finding and evidences. He goes beyond his finding through his strong intuition.

So, whatever claims posed by scientists through their scientific procedures, they only make even more difficult to argue the finding and theorms proposed by Weliam H. Boseke. They even discover many things that are still to be revealed by positivist science about Minahasa and everything connects with it.

In deriving meaning of the author’s experience and with a nobler aim to unearth great values of Minahasan ancestors, presumably that would have been an intrinsic part of the process of writing this book. The author welcomes any dialogues and he is willing to learn from all branches and eras of knowledge, even from general public, and certainly he welcomes to the working of divine world.

Concerning with this matter, we can assume the author as a scientist or inventor who receive historical guidance, especially which are connected with Minahasan language and Han nation. The history itself does not only about who, where, whom, when, and why of praxis field of the past, but it also relates with normative values and practical sense of groups of people in a transformation process toward the final and ultimate goal.#
